Chilean Skies Concerts are concerts combining music and astronomy in numerous ways.  It was founded by the Youth Orchestra of Pudahuel, Santiago, astronomer and charango player, Sebastian Perez along with pianist Kimball Gallagher. Concerts occur in observatories, concert halls, and other venues throughout Chile combining astronomy and music on the theme of the sky and existence, often interspersing music with short talks given by astronomers that are relevant to musical selections. Chile has some of the clearest skies in the world containing 70% of the world’s telescopes. One of the landmark compositions of Chilean Skies Concerts is a Charango concerto created by composer and scientist Anya Yermakova.
