Job Title: Program Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and proactive Program Officer to play a critical role in overseeing the implementation of various programs in different locations according to our organization’s mission and growth and grant requirements, as we expand throughout the continent of Africa.

 

Job Summary:

The Program Officer will be responsible for the proper execution of 88 International programs. This role includes overseeing program activities, ensuring alignment with organization’s educational goals, and contributing to the continuous improvement of each program’s development, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats with the team in each program, nurturing the program teams to ensure program’s educational effectiveness. This role also involves coaching, team meetings, generating documents, including reports to document program outcomes and impact, event proposals and possibly grant proposals for program sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation:
    • Oversee the implementation of 88 International’s educational and musical programs in designated regions including but not limited to Morocco, The Gambia and Senegal.
    • Ensure that the activities are delivered according to the 88 International curriculum and educational philosophy.
    • Monitor and evaluate each program’s performance and provide support to club coordinators and their teams to achieve targets and deliverables.
    • Collaborate with the Country Managers, program Alumni, Club Coordinators and other stakeholders to design and develop 88 International activities.
    • Coordinate alumni networks and support alumni-led activities, including meetings, regional events, and capacity-building workshops.
    • Conduct needs assessments and feasibility studies to inform appropriate program development and expansion.
  • Training and Team Building:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with each program’s team members.
    • Coach club coordinators and country managers in the 88 International educational approach in real time.
    • Coordinate meetings, communications, and collaborations with each program’s team members.
  • Reporting and Impact Assessment:
    • Generate periodic reports on program activities, outcomes, and impact.
    • Collect and analyze data to assess program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations.
    • Collaborate with program teams to ensure data collection and reporting requirements are met.
  • Document Writing:
    • Prepare event proposals and  program documentation, including manuals, guidelines, and curricula.
    • Identify and pursue additional funding opportunities for program sustainability from different sources and manage grant applications.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, International Relations, International Development, or a related field.
  • Experience in student-centered program implementation, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting is preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent team-building and mentoring skills.
  • Knowledge of international development issues and global affairs is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French or Arabic is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to program sites, including but not limited to Morocco, The Gambia and Senegal.
