Job Title: Operations Manager

We are seeking a sharp, enthusiastic, and proactive Operations Manager to oversee and implement programs in Morocco, The Gambia and Senegal.

 

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating operational and financial aspects of 88 International’s programs in Morocco, The Gambia, and Senegal. This includes ensuring smooth implementation of program activities, managing logistics and resources, building relationships with each country manager, and supporting them and their teams to deliver high-quality results in alignment with the organization’s mission and objectives, and the grant requirements. The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and impact of 88 International’s programs in these three countries.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation:
    • Oversee the execution of the club installation tours and activities for 88 International’s programs in Morocco, The Gambia, and Senegal, including but not limited to trainings and concerts, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and grant requirements.
    • Monitor each program’s performance and provide support to country managers and their teams to achieve targets and deliverables.
  • Operational Management:
    • Manage daily operations and ensure all transactions, logistics, including transportation, accommodation, and event planning, are executed efficiently and in a timely manner.
    • Coordinate with the executive director, finance team and the country managers to develop and manage budgets for program activities and events, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
    • Ensure compliance with local regulations, policies, and procedures in all three countries.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local partners, schools, government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
    • Represent 88 International in meetings with key stakeholders and at local and regional events to promote the organization’s mission and programs.
    • Identify opportunities for funding, collaboration and partnership with other organizations working in similar fields.
  • Monitoring and evaluation:
    • Work closely with the 88 International team to establish systems for monitoring program progress, collecting data, and evaluating impact, including budget and cost effectiveness.
    • Prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, challenges, and successes for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Implement corrective actions when needed to ensure programs remain on track and achieve desired impact.

 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Education, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in program management, operations management, or a related role, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Proven experience managing multi-country operations and teams, with strong project management skills.
  • Experience working in the education sector, youth development, or community engagement is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight, procurement, and logistics with experience in managing grants.
  • Passionate about youth empowerment, education, and community development, with high level of cultural sensitivity and understanding of the contexts in Morocco, Gambia, and Senegal.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French or Arabic is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to program sites, including but not limited to Morocco, The Gambia and Senegal.
