SENEGAL88

Senegal88 is a program of after-school music and life skills clubs, focused on high schools in the suburbs of Dakar, presented with the firm belief that music cultivates respect for differences and that artists can be global citizens.

Starting with a visit to each participating high school, Senegal88 presents an educational concert. Each concert launches a student-led after-school music club. Senegal88 music clubs organize their own community music events, participate in songwriting contests and hold regular meetings. Selected members participate in annual Leadership and Creativity trainings.

Senegal88 is managed in partnership with 88 International, the European Investment Bank Institute, Consortium Jeunesse Sénégal, Associates in Research and Education for Development (ARED), and Club Sono Mondiale.
