88 International is looking to appoint a Club Coordinator to manage and coordinate The Gambia88 program, a positive youth development through music program, in eventual partnership with the Ministry of Education and other partners. The initial appointment will be for one year, and may be renewed depending on performance and availability of funds.

Job summary:

The Gambia88 Club Coordinator(s) will be responsible for managing, supporting and monitoring clubs of the program The Gambia88, ensuring their performance during the annual cycle of activities that aligns with the school year. This role requires an educational and social impact-driven leader who can support clubs through the student-centered learning experience that The Gambia88 offers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and/or coordinating regional after-school programs, or experience facilitating sessions in the educational environment, excellent skills in communicating with youth and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

 

Responsibilities:

Club Management:

  • Oversee the creation and implementation of new The Gambia88 clubs in high schools across The Gambia.
  • Ensure alignment of clubs with the objectives and guidelines of the program and its annual cycle.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Program Manager and with 88 International staff and partners as needed.

Support and follow-up:

  • Provide ongoing support to club leaders to ensure the activities are running smoothly.
  • Track club progress and performance by collecting and analyzing data regularly.

Evaluation and improvement:

  • Assess club performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with club leaders to implement action plans to improve club outcomes.
  • Research and create opportunities for clubs to improve their skills, perform on stage and access new resources.

Communication:

  • Facilitate communication between clubs, partner schools, participants and the 88 International team.
  • Prepare regular reports on club activities and performance to be submitted to relevant stakeholders.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, social sciences, community development or related field in progress or completed. 
  • 3 years of experience in the management and/or coordination of national or regional extra-curricular programmes, or experience in facilitating sessions in the educational setting. Experience in secondary education is preferred.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data for program evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders including adolescents.
  • Understanding of Gambian and international cultural contexts, and the psychology of adolescents is required.
  • Proficiency in English and a national language. Proficiency in other national languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel within The Gambia and occasionally for regional and international meetings.
