About the program
88 International, the European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute, the philanthropic branch of the EIB Group, in partnership with the Ministry of National Education of the Moroccan government, and the German Federal Foreign Office, launched the Morocco88 initiative in 2024.
Morocco88 supports extracurricular music clubs led by students. These clubs follow an annual cycle of activities, including leadership training for social cohesion and creativity training to enable them to compose their own songs with their own words, melodies, messages and videos. They also create their own events to have a positive impact on their communities.
The Morocco88 team has created in a first phase 14 music clubs in high schools spread over 3 regions, namely Rabat, Marrakech and Fez, reaching more than 800 students through its interactive concerts. In 2025, the participation rate at the national Songwriting Contest reached 100%, with 14 songs written, composed and filmed by Morocco88 club members.

“Attending the opening event for the Morocco88 clubs was truly inspiring. It was a vibrant celebration of young talent and a testament to the power of collaboration and creativity. Being elected as Co-leader was an honor that deepened my commitment to the program’s mission: empowering youth and creating a lasting impact in our community.”
